Turkey Sandwiches

Jordyn asked me to make him a turkey sandwich for lunch today. I woke up this morning and apologized to him because I realized I forgot to make it, and this is the poem I got....
I looked in the fridge and there was no sandwich there,
I looked in the bottom and the top and everywhere,
It broke my heart to what I saw,
I saw eggs and milk but no sandwich at all,
So I hurried and scrambled for what I could find,
But there was not nothing to feed my behind,
I then had a thought that was oh so sweet,
Some good ole spaghetti left over to eat

Thought it was too good not to post. He is so proud of his poetry skills!

One of the many reasons why I love him, he never fails to make me laugh!

I'm still here!

My posts have seemed very random lately but blogging has become part of my monthly routine so I have to get it all in.

Until now, there has just been no time! My schedule now consists of waking up to go to school, coming home and studying for school, eat, bed, repeat. Exciting I know. I have had quite the awakening with my classes this semester. They are a lot of work and it seems like it never ends. This weekend has been one of the only times I have had this much rest, and I am so thankful! It has been  relaxing!

On a brighter note, fall has finally made its way to Georgia! The weather has been so beautiful lately. With fall also comes football season! I don't watch a lot of sports, but I love football. My dog even has a Carolina Panthers shirt (Thanks to her Mimi). We are dedicated! I love fall!

Last weekend Jordyn and I were able to go home and spend some time with our families. My brother, Matt, came in from Tennessee. We haven't spent any time together since June.  It was so good seeing him and spending time together. Of course, we had to take an updated family picture..

I am so blessed with a wonderful family, I only wish I could see them more!

I can't forget my wonderful in-laws. I am so thankful for them also. I miss them just as much as my own parents.

Even though things are crazy, I am so thankful for the life that God has given me, and the many blessings that I have!
Have a great week everyone!

Random Thoughts

Yet again, It's been a while since my last post. I have been so busy lately that between school and taking care of things around the house, my time for other things is limited.

On a brighter note,

** Two weeks ago we were able to spend some time at the beach! Jordyn and I were able to meet up with all of our parents and enjoy a relaxing week together full of beautiful weather!

**Panera Bread now has Cherry Vanilla Bagels. They only have them once a year, around September to October, and they are the best bagels! Looks like my diet is going to have to include a few of these over the next few months!

**We are having cooler weather! I walked outside this morning and needed a jacket. If you only knew how big of change we have experienced here in GA. Earlier this week it was in the 90's. Today it was 66 degrees! I love that it is getting cooler, time to break out hoodies, and boots!!!

**Also, I found out some very encouraging news this week. After this semester I will be considered a Senior in college! PRAISE THE LORD! Classes have been stressful this fall, but I'm so close to being done. Can everyone please pray that I make it out of school and still have my sanity, and also that I will be finished before we move back to NC!

**Last but not least, its deer season! I don't care to go hunting, I DO NOT have the patience for it, although, my dad and my husband are very excited. The good thing that comes out of hunting season for me is more time at home. There is truly no place like home, and I love spending my time there!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, enjoy the cooler weather!

Blessings

For a few weeks now I have been thinking about this song. I heard it at our church in Georgia, and ever since haven't been able to get it off my mind. Two weeks ago I was given the opportunity to be apart of our church in NC's children's camp. I have been apart of it several years and it is such a blessing every time. During one of our altar calls this song was played. I lost it, it is so powerful and I love how God can work through just a simple song. The song is called Blessings. It talks about how we go through so much suffering, we pray sometimes and feel like God is no where near, but reminds us that we are BLESSED and God has so much bigger plans for us than we have for ourselves. Our pastor in GA has been preaching about how we as Christians WILL experience suffering, but going through the fire will make us so much stronger. Maybe you are like me and have things in your life that you are experiencing and praying about that you don't really understand. I hope this songs speaks to you like it has to me. Be reminded that God has everything under control. He is good, and you are BLESSED no matter what you face.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
-1st Peter 5: 10-11

Praying for a Miracle

Today I went for my dentist appointment. It was my first time there so they went through all their procedures, and I was starting to  think it wasn't really a bad place to be. That was until I heard the words, Uh,oh. That is never a good sign. I asked the lady what was wrong and she said "Well this tooth is sticking right here". What does that mean I asked? "Its a CAVITY" she says. My heart dropped. I have never had a cavity before, and to make mattes worse she found 2 more. I thought I was going to cry.

Having a cavity isn't really the part that bothers me, its the getting them fixed. If anyone knows me at all, I do not do well with needles. I pass out at the sign of them. Its so bad that I even passed out at the vet's office at Ellie's first visit. It's awful. I can only imagine what it will be like with a needle going in my mouth.

Needless to say I am really dreading getting them fixed. With that said, I need your help. I went out and bought these two things today. Supposedly they can really help!

So with the help of these 2 things..
Please help me pray that the Lord takes all 3 of  these cavities out of my mouth!
Or as my Dad said, a miracle to happen!!!!

You make bad days better

Yesterday was just a terrible day. Have you ever had a day where it seemed like everything went wrong? That was how mine was yesterday. It was one thing after another.

Until....I got these..

  Aren't they beautiful?

My Mom sent me these, and it absolutely made my day!

I have the best mom ever!
Thank you mom! I love you very much!

Thankful Thursday!

Well, I realized I have been terrible with blogging!.. I have been so busy with school mainly to be able to post! So, what better way to post then to share things I am thankful for this week!!

*I am VERY thankful that school is coming to an end...very quickly!..Well at least summer semester! Next week is my final week of classes...then comes final time! Summer classes are always harder, and the classes I chose to take didn't make it any better! Everything is so fast pace, and there is always more work that comes along with it.

* A recent discovery, IBC Cherry Limeade

Thanks to Deidre, I have become addicted to Cherry Limeades...Especially from SONIC! As I was going down the grocery store isle, these caught my eye. I decided I had to try them. I opened one up yesterday and loved it! It's still not as good as SONIC, but very close!

*I am thankful for my sweet little one, Ellie.
Look at that sweet face! She is the most precious puppy. Of course she has her days where she brings out the worst in you, but she also brings out the best. I can say that she is one of the best decisions Jordyn and I have made. She has brought so much joy to our family and keeps us company. Especially me with Jordyn being away a lot. She is still very hyper, but is starting to calm down very slowly. I wouldn't trade her for anything!
* And of course, I am so thankful for the one who is holding Ellie.
My husband is the best husband anyone could ask for. He is so good about doing things around the house whether it be helping me cook(or cooking a meal by himself), laundry, or just cleaning up. He is such a big help to me, and he is very good with Ellie and if you all have dogs you know how much work they are so any help is greatly appreciated. I am so thankful to be able to be with my best friend every day. I love you Jordyn!

So..what are you thankful for this week?

Happy Father's Day!

...I know I am one day early, but Father's day for me this year is going to be different than its ever been. This is the FIRST year that I haven't been with my Dad on Father's Day :(, which is very sad.  I gave him a card and everything just like every other Father's Day but it's just not the same.

      Daddy,
Again I'm sorry I cant be there with you on Father's Day. If I had my choice I would be home to celebrate it with you! You are the best Dad in the world! Thank you for all you do and the example you set! Jordyn and I both are so grateful for the love and support  you have given us! I hope you have the best day ever! I miss you!

                                              I love you very much!
                                                           - your little girl!

Happy Father's Day everyone!

Great weekend

This weekend Jordyn and I went home to be a part of my great friend Whitney's wedding!!
This is the beautiful bride, she is was in my wedding, and has been one of my closet friends for many years! I love her so much and was so honored to be apart of her big day!

What made this weekend even more special is that it was the first time my WHOLE family has been together in 3 months. My brother lives in TN, and I'm in GA now, so getting us all together is almost impossible. We go home often, but I haven't seen my brother since Jordyn and I got married. He was also apart of the wedding. Jordyn and I got home about 1:30 on Friday morning and my brother came in a few minutes after us, when we got home we all had presents on our pillows. Yes, I know we are all a little spoiled by my parents!!:)

Presents for me, Ellie, and Jordyn

We were all able to have lunch on Sunday afternoon! We had a feast- steaks, okra, squash. mac n cheese, bread, and homemade ice cream! That is truly a perk of coming home! We eat VERY well! All the family got together and took some pictures together (even all our dogs).

ALL of My Wonderful family!!!!

Me, Jordyn, and Ellie (our little family)

Me and my brother Matt

Me and Jordyn with my other family (my sweet in-laws)

We had a wonderful weekend...it was even harder to leave this time! I am so thankful for all of my family! I truly have the best family in the world!

Ellie Update

time for an update! ....
Ellie is doing great! She is grasping potty training, and Jordyn and I are so glad! She is learning quickly. In just a little over a week and we have grown to love her so much! We took her to the vet yesterday and she finished up her puppy shots. They also weighed her, she now weighs 4.8lbs. She is growing quickly. Here are some more recent pictures of our sweet girl!

I think she is getting a little tired of me taking pictures!

We got her a new shirt!

As you can see she didn't care for it too much...she kept trying to bite it and pull it off.

Playing with one her favorite toys (Mr. Frog:)

Sitting with her daddy!

Jordyn wanted to see if she would run with him....her little legs got tired pretty quickly.

Im still here....

Its been  a while...but I am still here...
....not been much to blog about...although me and Jordyn have started running on his days off......it has been somewhat of a struggle...but hopefully will be worth it in the end...
where we live there are so many geese...we have a huge pond outside our apartment and they all love it there. The other day Jordyn was working so i decided to walk/ run by myself. I took some leftover bread to the geese...they will eat anything..so I figured instead of throwing it out, I would give them a treat!
I soon found out that may be a bad idea...this is what I saw coming towards me..
....and this wasn't all...they multiply very quickly. Within seconds I was surrounded  with only two pieces of bread. They all started chirping and bobbing their heads and chasing me so I decided the best thing for me to do was get out of there! I threw the bread and ran off..:)

As I was escaping..I happened to see two geese off to the side.. I got a little closer only to see that there were baby geese! I was able to watch them for a while. They were so sweet.

I had to show Jordyn, so as soon as he got home from work we took some more bread and had another visit with the geese! I told him that this time he was in charge of giving out the bread, and I would stand off to the side.

We also have a few ducks....they spotted the food first so they all stood in line waiting on Jordyn to give them food. One ate out of his hand....and he had them all literally jumping to get the bread from his hand. I think in this picture he was trying to get them to "sit" to get some food..they don't quite listen as well as dogs do.

Here are the babies! They are so cute! Jordyn was able to get them to come close to us so we could feed them! It was so sweet but the poor kids, the mom was taking all their food so, Jordyn had to throw it far away so they could all run to it!

After a while the others realized we were there...so here we go again...Jordyn said...what am I supposed to do? I don't have any more food... My advice...RUN!!!!

Don't Quit

Living away from home has brought on several challenges. One of the biggest has been finding a church. We have looked on the Internet, and visited so many churches over the past few weeks. I guess we also have very high standards because our church back home is the best you will find. I have been there all my life, so coming here and finding a new church has been very difficult for me especially. We had a guest preacher and he preached a very encouraging message.

I have heard these verses and even the words he said over 1000 times, but this time was different. God used his word to speak in a completely different way. He read Galatians 6:7-9- Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

He talked about how as Christians, we have a job to do. We have a job to go and spread the gospel to others. We also are called to be servants and to do what the Lord called us to do. He said we are not called to quit or give up on God. Even though we don't feel like He is there or is working, He is, because His word said He is!

It is so easy to get discouraged when we feel like what we are doing is useless. We pray and seek and hope, and it feels like God is not intervening with our problems. The pastor often reminded us in his message that the harvest is in Gods hands. Our job is to plant the seeds, and then leave the rest to the Lord.

The most profound things that he said that has stuck with me is a story that he told about a farmer. He said every year he gets ready to for the harvest. He sows with handfuls, but reaps with truckloads.

I'm so thankful that God's word always has new things to say. He is a great God, and His word is full of truth. I am so grateful for His timing and encouragement when I need it the most.

Remember...Don't quit...your work is not in vain!

Decoration!

My parents came down for a visit last week! It was great having them here! They were able to see our new place and spend some time with me and Jordyn!! While they were here they helped us put some finishing touches on our apartment!

We added a picture above the couch! I have so much wall space it was hard to find one that was big enough! This one matches my rug, so it was a winner!

A closer view

This is my favorite area! We put the scripture on the wall (vinyl lettering) and my mom made our beautiful centerpiece!!

I'm really not sure what to call this area.  My mom calls it the Olive Garden area because it looks like something you would see in an Italian restaurant. Again, my mom used her creativity to make something to fill this space!!

This is the hallway!  I love this picture. I have been looking at it for weeks! My parents purchased it for me when they were here! I have to say they still spoil me! I'm still waiting to get my pictures to fill it up! I can't wait til its done!
Thanks again Mom and Daddy for all your help! You helped make our place look more like a home (temporary home)!!

My Big Day!

Well....one month later I decided it would be a good time to post about my wedding:) My wedding was everything I imagined plus even more (with the exception of rain). I have been truly blessed with so many people who made this experience in my life even more special. My mom, mother in law, and many other of my sweet friends and family members helped to decorate the church. Everything was lit up, and was very elegant. My bridesmaids looked stunning in their black dresses (not to mention about as skinny as a rail :)) The guys didn't look too bad either! My wedding was very simple, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! The best way to describe this day is to let you see it for yourself. All these pictures were taken by Calla-Lilly Photography.

To set my wedding apart, I decided to sing to my husband. I love to sing, but struggled with this decision because I tend to be a little emotional. To keep this top secret only the people that had to know about it knew. My brother is so talented and is able to play several instruments. He lives about 6 hours away from me so finding a time to practice was impossible until a few days before the wedding. We started the Thursday before staying up til about 2am practicing this song. It turned out to be so beautiful. My brother, Matt, played the piano while I sang a song called Forever and Ever I Do. I was strong until about the second line when it hit Jordyn that I was singing to him and started sobbing. I did my best to hold it together, and I made it all the way through! I don't get to surprise him often-but this one was GREAT!

We also had a wonderful wedding party! Each one is so dear to our hearts. This is my favorite picture of all of us! We had so much fun!

And of course...we couldn't have made it through smoothly without our wedding director! Thanks Deidre for all your help!! I love you so much!

And if course our parents....We love our parents so much. They have done SOOO much for us, especially throughout our engagement. We cannot express how blessed we are to have such amazing families. We truly love them with ALL our hearts!

We have been happily married for a month now! God has been so good to the both of us, has answered so many prayers already. We are so excited to see what all he will do in the days ahead!

SOOOO much to tell!

Yes I am still here, and I have not forgot about blogging! It has just been crazy for the past few weeks! My husband and I  got married on March 5th. It still seems unreal! After the wedding we headed to Ft. Myers and Disney World for our honeymoon! I have been wanting to go Disney for a very long time. My parents decided to take me when I was 2, so needless to say I don't remember anything from our trip. We spent the first 3 nights In Ft. Myers, FL. Jordyn's grandmother has a place there, and graciously let us spend some time there! It was beautiful.

When we got there we opened the door to a beautifully decorated apartment. As you can see they used a lot of rose petals....It took us a very long time to get them all up! We also spent a day at the beach there. The weather was beautiful! The beach was so nice and relaxing!

We were able to catch the sunset one night..It was breathtaking! I am so amazed at Gods beautiful creation!

After Fort Myers we headed to DISNEY WORLD~!!!!!! It was about a 3 hour drive! We headed straight to Disney's Animal Kingdom!

There was so much to see! My favorite thing about this park was the safari we went on! We saw giraffes, antelope, lions, hippos, rhinos, and so much more. It was so neat to see all these unusual animals! We had a great time.

We then headed to Magic Kingdom. Jordyn and I both thought this park would be our least favorite but it was actually our favorite park! We had so much fun! We were able to ride several rides and see some beautiful shows! It was truly magical!

We then headed to Epcot! We were also very impressed with this park! They were having a festival of flowers the week we were there. They had several Disney characters made out of flowers! It was amazing!

In Epcot you are able to travel all around the world and experience many different cultures. I had to make a special stop in Moscow to have my picture taken with the characters from my ABSOLUTE favorite Disney movie, Aladdin! Bless my sweet husband for standing in line for a very long time so he could take the picture for me!
We then made our way to the last park...Hollywood Studios. There was only about 3 things there that we really enjoyed. Tower of Terror, Aerosmith's Rockin' Roller coaster, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST PLAY!!! You can probably tell which one was my favorite. These two rides were probably our favorite. They had so much detail, and were so different than any other I have ever been on! Their Beauty and the Beast play summed up the classic story into a 30 min production. I was so amazed. They did a wonderful job!

As you can see, we had a wonderful time! We have so many memories that we will cherish forever!

.....Wedding pictures are on the way!
